Although I have posted past samples of work, I am revamping this blog, if you want to call it that, although I call it an insights column. What are Insights? Generating insights is about shedding light on relationships, uncovering motivations, and solving problems. See this blog for more details.

I will post things I see in the news, social media, pop culture, issues I care about, and the occasional cute photo of my dog, that cause further pondering, commentary and discussion. Please leave a comment if so inclined. :)

One of my current favorite TV shows is The Walking Dead. Read below to see why.

The Walking Dead is brilliant

Truth be told I was never really a big fan of The Walking Dead on AMC initially. I'm very happy my husband always watched it, therefore I watched it and have become - like MANY others - a big fan. In last night's episode (spoiler alert!) Beth was kidnapped. Let me back up a minute in case you've been living under a rock - or in Rick's case, wake up in a hospital from a coma and there is no one in sight - except ZOMBIES!

What is The Walking Dead, and why is it so popular?
The Walking Dead is an American post-apocalyptic horror drama television series developed by Frank Darabont. It is based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. The series stars Andrew Lincoln as sheriff's deputy, Rick Grimes, who awakens from a coma to find a post-apocalyptic world dominated by flesh-eating zombies. He sets out to find his family and encounters many other survivors along the way.

The series has been well received and has been nominated for many awards, including the Writers Guild of America Award and the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Drama. The series has also attained strong Nielsen ratings, surpassing various records for a cable series, including viewership of 16.1 million for its season four premiere, making it the most-watched drama series telecast in basic cable history.

One-eyed dog came to visit - he's a hero in real life

No...Beth!

Daryl and Beth found a nice house on the edge of a graveyard, a funeral home. Lots happens in a short time (what else is new in this twisted world): A one-eyed dog visits, they find food, get close...romantic even, as Beth plays the piano and Daryl takes a rest in a casket - it's the most comfortable bed I've slept on in years, he said. Then, alas, zombies come and they get separated. Beth is then kidnapped, and a car takes off leaving Daryl in the dust.
