I'm an advocate for those who can't speak for themselves, or need help. Are you hiring? Please email me, and let's connect on Linkedin, and follow me on Twitter. I'm available for full-time or freelance work. In 2015 I worked as a Consultant/Communications Coordinator for Lyme Connection, a nonprofit organization in Ridgefield, CT. Lyme Connection's tick-borne disease prevention efforts are largely focused on supporting the BLAST Lyme Disease Prevention Program. This nationally recognized educational effort was created by the Ridgefield Health Department in 2008.The program is based on peridomestic Lyme disease prevention research conducted in Connecticut. The BLAST acronym –Bathe after outdoor activity, Look for Ticks and rashes, Apply repellent, Spray the yard and Treat pets - highlights five key evidence-based steps that may reduce the risk of tick-borne illnesses. I performed various duties as it relates to managing a nonprofit focused on helping patients, but also connecting health professionals with each other. In addition, I was responsible for development, grant-writing, fundraising and online donations and assisted the Co-Chairs in securing local and state grants. I acted as a community manager (regular contact with health care professionals, patients, nonprofits, hospitals, government officials, etc.) and I was responsible for taking and distributing meeting minutes at monthly Task Force meeting. I managed all aspects of email marketing (Mailchimp), including creating content, managing lists, sharing content, and made suggestions based on testing and analysis. Also, I created content for the website, microsites, social media pages, and press releases. I maintained press lists and managed many duties for events and conferences. I photographed the May 12, 2015 conference, Lyme Disease: Why Can't We Get Better? From Symptoms to Solutions, which was featured on the front page of newstimes.com. In addition, I managed all aspects of email marketing and event management for Lyme Connection's conference for health professionals, Brain and Behavior: The Impact of Lyme and Other Infectious Diseases.
